Reflection on April 8th

[Quotes from King James Bible]

  1. (3:2) And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: {3:3} But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die
  2. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
  3. (EXODUS 3:22) But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.

<Proprioception and Kinesthesia>

– Spinal Control of Movements

A Lecture about Proprioception and Kinesthesia from KHAN ACADEMY

Proprioception refers to an ability to sense where the body is. It a sense of position originated from tiny sensors in the body such as muscle spindles, tendon organs and joint kinesthetic receptors. The brain senses based on how contracted and how relaxed the muscles are.

Kinesthesia talks more about the movement of the body. One is able to detect a movement as one learns and repeats the movement.

Proprioception and Kinesthesia are not the same concept. Proprioception is a cognitive awareness of the body that we are not overly thinking while Kinesthesia is behavioral. However they do share in common; both infer movement and position, where the body is in space.

[Application of Knowledge]

In The Three Witches, the witches with hooked noses are all lined up in a diagonal line, staring the Moon and pointing at something. In Adam and Eve, Eve’s body is tilted to a tree, standing on her one foot. Her hand is grabbing the Apple while the other hand is on the tree. An ability to mimic the gesture of Eve and The Three Witches is proprioception.  However, when we repeated the gesture with the music, it was considered as Kinesthesia since we began to acquire the movements.

[Summary]
