This is an intersectional research; since I am currently learning about the literature ‘The curious incident of the dog’ in IB MYP English class’, I decided to investigate on the theatre that deals with same stories as well.
The curious incident of the dog in the nightmare is a best selling novel written by Mark Haddon. This is a story of an autistic boy who takes his journey to figure out who killed his neighbor’s dog.
FYI:*autism spectrum disorder, or ASD, is a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges. Those people with ASD tend to stick to certain work and due to this inclination, Autistic people show exceptional intellectual ability, creativity, or reasoning process.
Another FYI: There has been a criticism that the main character of the book, Christopher, does not represent an epitome of autism. However, I personally think the author describes autism in a best way as he can.
This popular, at the same time, controversial book was given rebirth by National Theatre. The theatre version of ‘The curious incident if the dog in the nightmare’ takes unique approach to the original stories , which is visualising Christopher’s stream of thought.
